Shalee Rodriguez

Head Coach

Shalee Rodriguez joined Oklahoma Christian’s coaching staff as an assistant coach on July 13, 2018, after two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Southern Nazarene, and was named as the Eagles' third head coach on June 11, 2021. Rodriguez is beginning her fourth season at the helm of the OC program ahead of the 2025 spring season.

Following the 2024 season, Rodriguez led the Eagles to their fifth consecutive 35-win season (not counting 2020's shortened season) and fourth straight 20-win conference season. Rodriguez is 112-55 overall at OC, including 78-36 in conference play, has led OC to the NCAA Division II Tournament during all three of her seasons in Edmond, Okla., and has produced 18 All-Conference recipients; five First Team members, five Second Team selections and eight Third Team honorees.

In 2024, Rodriguez's squad delivered the program's first ever NCAA Division II South Central Region Title and a berth in the DII Super Regionals after defeating then-No. 1 and region-host West Texas A&M, 9-8.

2023 saw Oklahoma Christian post its most-ever Lone Star wins for a single season with a 29-13 mark. The Eagles finished as Lone Star Conference Tournament Runners-Up before making their at-the-time second straight trip to the NCAA Division II Tournament.

The 27-year-old enjoyed immediate success in her new role, guiding OC to a 39-15 record and a berth in the NCAA Division II tournament during her first season in 2022. Along the way, the Eagles set a school record by winning 22 straight games and they finished the 2022 campaign with 17 straight wins at home.

During her first season as an assistant coach with the Eagles, OC won a share of the Heartland Conference's regular-season title and the conference tournament and made its first NCAA Division II tournament appearance, knocking off two ranked foes en route to a regional runner-up finish as a No. 8 seed. OC was 21-5 during the pandemic-shortened 2020 season and went 38-9 during the 2021 campaign, rising as high as No. 4 in the NCAA Division II coaches' poll and earning the No. 1 seed in the South Central Regional tournament.

At SNU, the Newcastle, Okla., product was part of a staff that guided the Crimson Storm to the Great American Conference postseason tournament title game in 2018.

Then known as Shalee Cordell, Rodriguez started for four seasons as a player at Oklahoma Baptist, twice receiving All-Region selection at the NAIA level for the Bison and twice receiving first-team All-Sooner Athletic Conference honors. In 2014, she made the SAC's Gold Glove list and as a senior in 2015, she earned NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors. She also received the NAIA's Champion of Character award both in 2014 and 2015.

She set OBU records for single-season hits (75) and career doubles (51) and led the SAC in stolen bases in 2015 with 26.

During her collegiate playing career, she had 224 hits, including 14 home runs, and 119 RBIs. She graduated from OBU in 2016 with a bachelor's degree in elementary education and earned her master's degree in sports administration from East Central in 2017.

Rodriguez is married to Kalon Rodriguez. The couple had their first child, their daughter Raylee, on July 29, 2024.
